HEAD OF REINTEGRATION BUREAU BRIEFED GERMAN REPRESENTATIVES ON TRANSNISTRIAN SETTLEMENT PROCESS

On Thursday, head of the Reintegration Bureau Alin Gvidiani met with a German delegation from the Federal State of Hesse, headed by the Minister for Federal and European Affairs of the Federal State of Hesse, the state's representative in the Federal Government, Manfred Pentz. The main topic of discussion was the Transnistrian issue. Gvidiani said that the Moldovan authorities are in favor of "constructive dialogue, withdrawal of the temporarily uncontrolled region from self-isolation and information censorship, its inclusion in democratic and legal processes, as well as the implementation of national and international standards throughout the country." He called the human rights situation in the eastern regions of the country "extremely serious" and called for increased efforts on the part of both Chisinau and external partners "to protect citizens and respect universally recognized international norms."
