​HUNGARIAN EMBASSY INVITES STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR STUDYING ABROAD

The Hungarian Embassy to Moldova invites Moldovan students to submit documents for studying abroad.

At the Thursday’s press conference, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Moldova Matyas Szilagyi said that 20 Moldovan students are already studying in Hungary.

According to him, his country’s Government annually provides 30 scholarships, 15 of which for Licentiate studies, 10 – for Master’s studies and five – for Doctorate. It is planned that this number will be increased in future.

“Starting from this year, we are planning to open courses for studying Hungarian language and culture in Chisinau universities, as well as in Balti. We are discussing these issues with the Education Ministry and we hope that in the new academic year – 2017-2018 – we can start the courses. The Embassy will contribute to implementation of this project”, the Ambassador said.

Applications for studying in Hungary can be submitted to the website http://www.tka.hu/international-programmes/2966/stipendium-hungaricum/ until March 5. After that, the selection of students will be conducted.

The embassy also said that the number of beneficiaries from visas to Hungary fell to 650 people in 2016. In 2015, this figure was 1 thousand, while in 2014 – 5 thousand. There are around 1.5 million citizens in Moldova who have biometric passports and approximately the same number have simple passport for traveling abroad. Among those, who got visas, the most popular remain such countries as Greece, Austria and Hungary.
