WOMEN SOLIDARITY FESTIVAL HELD IN CHISINAU

The Festival of Women Solidarity, organized by the Gender Equality Platform and Gender Doc-M center is held in Chisinau on the eve of the International Women’s Day – March 8.

The platform representative Nina Lozinschi said that its participants discuss the role of women in the politics, cases of discrimination and violence against women, problems of maternity.

“Solidarity should be present both in relations between women and men, and in relations between representatives of fair sex. We want that people to understand that we live in a democratic country and have to respect our rights, as well as gender equality”, she said.

According to her, dozens of cases of violence and discrimination against women were registered in 2017, which induced to organize the festival for supporting victims of stereotypes.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day on Thursday, a March of Solidarity will take place under the slogan “For women’s solidarity”. Its participants will march through Chisinau.
