ATHLETES TO RECEIVE AWARDS FROM 200 THOUSAND TO 3 MILLION LEI FOR SUCCESS AT THE 2024 OLYMPICS

On Wednesday, the government approved the amount of awards for the performances of Moldovan athletes at the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. Gold medalists will be awarded 3 million lei. Those who take second and third places will receive 2.6 and 2 million lei, respectively. Athletes who take fourth and fifth places will receive 600 thousand lei each. Sixth place will be awarded 400 thousand lei, seventh - 300 thousand, and eighth - 200 thousand. Awards are provided for coaches who have trained athletes over the past four years, as well as medical personnel. Seven athletes have so far secured the right to participate in the Olympic Games, with 13 more expected to qualify.
