MOLDOVA AND RUSSIA BENT TO STRENGTHENING COOPERATION

Moldovan authorities, as well as Russian authorities are seriously bent to extending cooperation, said Chairman of the Organization Committee of the “Expo-Russia Moldova 2017” David Vartanov at the Tuesday’s ceremony of exhibition in Chisinau.

He said that the exhibition will become a best instrument for achieving significant results in developing Moldovan-Russian relations.

“In current difficult times, there is a growing need to conduct such events for raising the cooperation between entrepreneurs, promoting the Russian businesses in the Moldovan market and responsive attraction of Moldovan investments to Russia”, Vartanov said.

According to him, a productive dialog between representatives of Russian and Moldovan public institutes has an important role in this.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova (CCI) Chairman Sergiu Harea said that Moldova is implementing a massive package of reforms, directed to diversifying economy, raising the economic and export potential, modernizing the production infrastructure by means of investment mastering, which surely raises interest of Russian partners, who aim at extending their presence in Moldovan market.

“A clear thematic and targeted direction allows the exhibition to demonstrate production and technical potential of Russian companies. It will help guests to find joint solutions for business development, implementation of modern technologies and production modernization”, he said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Moldova Farit Muhametshin said that the importance of the exhibition is confirmed not only by the rich socio-economic cooperation between the countries, but also the festival of arts “Meeting with Russia”, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between the states.

“Within the festival, meetings with People’s Artists of Russia and premier screening of films will be organized”, the diplomat said.

Gagauzia Bashkan [governor] Irina Vlah said that Russia is important for autonomy’s economic development.

“In 2016, the Russian share in the total volume of Gagauz exports reached 90%. Thus, such events are a good platform for implementing the autonomy’s economic potential”, she said.

Representatives of 24 Russian companies are taking part in the Expo-Russia Moldova 2017.
