PAS YOUTH PROPOSES SOLUTIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE EMPLOYMENT

05 december, 2017

The youth organization of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) has developed four solutions for the problems of young people employment, said its Chairman Dan Perciun.

The young people in Moldova face problems with employment due to low salaries and lack of experience. According to the Institute of Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS) “Viitorul” opinion poll, more than 28% young people are ready to go abroad for the coming 6 months.

“Over the last time, we talked to hundreds of young people to find out which problems they face. After that, we addressed to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences to ask what they are doing to resolve the problem. We made the inquiry a month ago, but did not receive any answer”, Perciun said.

The PAS Youth proposes to create a fund with a budget of 1 million euros for financing youth business projects. Also, it is necessary to organize advanced training courses for psychologists, who work in educational institutions, in order that they to help students to chose their future profession.

They also proposed to develop a special internship contract. Such a contract will guarantee to the young person a minimal wage, while the employer would be exempted from payment of taxes for the intern. An alternative is a voucher for internship, which may be issued by educational institutions to students for partial covering of employer’s expenditures.

The PAS Youth will submit its initiatives in the form of petition to the Education Ministry.
