ECONOMY MINISTRY ANNOUNCES SELECTION OF COMPANIES FOR REPAIRING ROADS

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure announced the call for proposals from companies, which will work on repairing roads within the Democratic Party's project "Good Roads for Moldova". The acceptance of applications was started on 4 tenders of 35 planned.

The program "Good Roads for Moldova" implies conducting of a tender per each country raion. Agreements between the State Automobile Road Administration and the contractor companies will be signed in May.

Twelve applications were submitted for fulfilling the works on reconstructing automobile roads in the raions of Briceni, Basarabeasca, Leova and Cahul. Economic agents' proposals were studied under the supervision of the Road Administration.

According to the available data, three applications were submitted for conducting works in Briceni raion. Their cost accounts for 31.8 million lei through 34 million lei. Three economic agents submitted applications for repairing roads in the Basarabeasca raion. There, the cost of works varies from 9.21 million to 9.79 million lei. In Donduseni, also three economic agents showed interest in these works. The smallest offer accounts for 32.6 million lei, while the largest - 33.54 million lei. In Drochia raion, the proposals from three economic agents accounted for 46.24 million to 48.1 million lei. All the economic agents who presented their proposals, assured they will fulfill works within four months.

Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici called on economic agents, specialized in road building and repairing, to participate in tenders, organized in all country raions. He also encouraged the State Automobile Road Administration to fulfill the established terms in order that the works to start without delay and to be fulfilled qualitatively.

The program "Good Roads for Moldova" implies repairing of around 1200 km of roads, which connect almost 1200 localities. The total sum of investments will account for 1.6 billion lei. 500 billion lei will be allocated from the Road Fund, 1100 million lei more - from the state budget. The repairing works will start in mid-May. The news about the initiation of the road repairing program was announced by Democratic Party Chairman Vlad Plahotniuc in February.
