MOLDOVAN FARMERS GET MACHINERY FROM JAPAN

08 may, 2018

Moldovan farmers received 106 Kubota tractors, bought within the Moldovan-Japanese project 2KR for developing conservative farming in Moldova.

The Monday's ceremony of transmitting the machinery was attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who said that this project, launched back in 1999, is an example of consistency and viability.

"This demonstrates several important things, for example the Japanese Government's attitude. Regardless of the changing of authorities and governments in Moldova, this attitude did not change and we feel this support", he said.

According to him, within the project over 4 thousand Moldovan agricultural producers already used the possibility to buy modern machinery on profitable conditions; in leasing, with zero interest rate, without banking guarantee or bailiff, with the possibility of extending the payment period.

"Thus, the prerequisites were created that people to stay and work at home, without leaving abroad for seeking job. Due to the new machinery, over 30 thousand jobs were created", the Premier said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii assured that Japan will continue supporting Moldova in development, in creation of jobs and in implementing projects that change people's lives to better.

Infotag's dossier: In total within the 2KR, the Japanese Government allocated grants worth US$24.5 million, for which around 9 thousand items of various machinery were bought for Moldovan farmers.
