ANRE RAISES FUEL PRICES 1.5-2%

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has raised on Tuesday the price ceiling on gasoline by 0.39 lei per liter, and by 0.07 lei - on diesel.

As Infotag has already reported, the previous two attempts - on May 29 and June 12 - were cancelled under the pressure of the Government and the society.

According to the demands of consumers and the Government, the ANRE explained the process of price formation. Each liter of gasoline includes: 9.23 lei - world market quotations price; 3.76 lei - share of excise taxes; 3.25 lei - trade margin; 3.25 lei - VAT. For diesel fuel: 9.37 lei - quotation price; 1.76 lei - excise tax; 3.25 - trade margin; 2.87 - VAT.

The ANRE explained that at calculation of new prices, the Agency took into account the average exchange rate of the Moldovan leu over the previous two weeks - MDL16.8275 per US$1 against the previous US$16.8264. The average Platts quotations grew US$25.42 per ton for gasoline (3.64%) and US$14.80 - for diesel (2.29%) within the period of June 26 through July 9.

As for the commercial margin of 3.25 lei per liter, it is based on such rates as costs for transportation and insuring the transported fuel, customs procedures, currency converting.
