ANTA DIRECTOR WILL BE DISMISSED IF E-AUTORIZARE PROGRAM IS NOT LAUNCHED IN TIME - PREMIER

13 september, 2018

Director of the National Road Transport Agency Vsevolod Bocsarean will be dismissed from function if the program on issuing vehicle authorizations "e-Autorizare" is not launched in due time, said Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the Wednesday Government sitting.

According to him, the issuing of permits via electronic services will lower corruption in this sector, but some people are against its implementation.

"There is much corruption in the system of issuing automobile authorizations. We even are aware about the sums motorists are paying for getting the document. It is obvious that in the system there are many persons who are contrary to the innovation, we saw this at implementing other reforms. This program should have been launched since September 1, but it still does not work", Filip said.

He addressed to Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici with a request to personally control the program implementation, as well as stated that if the program does not start working on the appointed day, that day will be the last working day for the ANTA director.

The amendments to the Road Transport Code concerning the issuing of authorizations in electronic form entered into force on September 1. The acceptance of applications on getting permitting documents should start before end-October, while the issuing of authorizations - before December 15.
