26 september, 2018

Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with representatives of the ZTE Corporation (China) on Tuesday in Chisinau. The business people announced the premier about the company's intention to open a plant on assembling electric buses in Moldova.

"The visit of investors is always a joy for us, but when someone wants to start business in our country - this is a double joy", the Premier said.

One of advantages Moldova may provide to investors is the free trade regime the republic benefits from with the European Union, the CIS and Turkey. Currently, Moldova is discussing an equivalent draft agreement with the People's Republic of China.

The ZTE representatives appreciated the openness of the Government in resolving problems of foreign investors.

50% of the ZTE Corporation joint stock company belongs to the Chinese state, while the rest is held by private shareholders. In 2016, its turnover accounted for US$1.7 billion. The company is working in more than 150 companies. Its staff exceeds 80 thousand people.
