ELECTRICITY AND GAS TARIFFS WILL NOT BE RAISED – ANRE

The National Energy Regulatory Agency did not discuss the issue of raising the tariffs on natural gas and electricity and does not even have in plan such a decision.

This was the ANRE’s comment on the information, which recently appeared in press, about the raising of natural gas and electricity tariffs after the February 24 elections.

“This is wrong information, aimed at misleading consumers. The ANRE had never discussed or even planned such a raising of tariffs”, the message says.

Its authors stated that such rumors, spread even by some politicians, are a downright lie.

ANRE called on the media outlets to officially double-check the appearing information concerning tariffs before publishing it. The agency expressed openness to maximum operative and efficient cooperation with press to correctly inform citizens and prevent their misinformation.

As Infotag has already reported, at the recent press conference, representatives of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) said that the Moldovagaz was preparing the raising of tariffs back in autumn, but the Government had not decided to adopt such an unpopular step before elections. According to them, after elections it is planned to considerably raise gas tariffs for population, which will push up the rest of prices. The National Bank of Moldova is already forecasting this.
