Minister Vadim Brinzan said at the launching ceremony that this format of cooperation is a pillar in building a solid bridge between EaP countries and EU member countries, which will ensure a firm basis for digital economy development.

Ambassador Peter Michalko, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova said that the EU4Digital will improve not only the activity of state institutions, but also life of ordinary country citizens.

“This is a field with great potential for socio-economic development, as well as for ensuring growth and creating jobs. The harmonization of digital markets will lead to improvement of online services at more profitable prices and with a greater choice. This will attract investments and will raise trade and employment”, he said.

Infotag’s dossier: By means of EU4Digital, the EU is helping the EaP countries in lowering roaming tariffs and in developing high speed broadband internet access for stimulating economy and extending electronic services. The general goal of the program is to remove the existing obstacles and barriers for general European online services for citizens, state administrations and enterprises, including by means of harmonizing the digital environment between EaP and EU countries. The program is designed for 2019-2020, while its total budget accounts for 11 million euros.
