BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS ASK MOLDOVAN AUTHORITIES TO SUPPORT BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT DUE TO COVID-19 SITUATION

The Alliance of Small and Medium Enterprises (AIM), the Association of Business Women (AFAM), the Association of Creative Enterprises (COR), the MAR National Association of Restaurants and Entertainment Establishments called on authorities to initiate urgent measures on supporting the business environment due to the spreading of the coronavirus epidemic.

According to their joint address to the country president, the heads of the Government and the Parliament they ask in particular to change the deadlines of payments or extend the terms of transferring and payment of the VAT and the tax on profit; to release or postpone the payment of taxes, connected with the issuing of salary during quarantine; to extend the deadline of paying tax liabilities without applying penalties.

Besides, the list of requirements includes the freezing of payment on covering the loans and credits to commercial banks and nonbank credit organizations, postponement of interest rates on loans and credits without applying fines for the overdue payments.

Business associations hope for state support in paying salary to workers, who are on forced leave due to the quarantine.

The business people propose to authorities to conduct negotiations with financial institutions in the view of lowering interest rates on credits; to establish a state fund for emergency recovery of losses, suffered by companies as a result of the quarantine in connection with the Code Red of danger; to provide credits for small and medium enterprises with zero interest rate, as well as for stranded companies.
