MOLDOVA CLIMBED ONE POSITION IN WORLD HAPPINESS RATING

Moldova ranked the 70th in the rating of world happiest countries 2019, which is one position higher than a year before.

According to the World Happiness Report, published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, experts take into account six factors: the GDP per capita, the life expectancy, the generosity, the social support, as well as freedom and corruption in the field of influence on adoption of important life decisions. Each of these factors is assessed on a scale of one to ten, after which the average score for the country is calculated.

Moldova scored 5.603 points. Romania ranked the 47th with 6.124; Ukraine is the 123rd with 4,561. Russia scored 5,546 and ranked the 73rd.

The ranking is headed by Finland for the second consecutive year. The top ten also includes Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, the New Zealand, Austria and Luxembourg.

The least happy countries are Afghanistan (153rd), the South Sudan (152), Zimbabwe (151) and Rwanda (150).
