MoE PREPARING PACKAGE OF ANTI-CRISIS MEASURES

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure is preparing a package of anti-crisis measures on reducing the negative impact of the pandemic on the national economy given the European countries’ experience, as well as the proposals from domestic entrepreneurs.

According to the ministry, the outlined steps became the topic of discussion at the Friday’s video conference, organized with participation of Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Sergiu Railean.

“We assessed all the problems and proposals, which come from entrepreneurs. We are open for direct communication with the business environment to establish short-term, mid-term and long-term priorities. We will also analyze with colleagues from other state institutions the possibility of support from the budget and from outside”, he said.

According to the minister, the dialog with donors and external partners has already been started to establish the possibilities of financial covering within the package of assistance for the country, as well as regional and international funds for combating the pandemic and the economic decline.

The business associations outlined the main problems they are facing and asked the ministry’s help in resolving a whole number of problems connected with the technical unemployment, the monitoring of prices, the ensuring of enterprise liquidity, the imports of raw materials, the functionality of agencies on providing state services.

The videoconference connected business associations from the tourism and HoReCa sectors, representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the National Association of Restaurants and Recreation Facilities (MAR), the Employers’ Association of Light Industry Enterprises (APIUS), the Foreign Investors Association, the European Business Association, the Employers’ Association of the Tourism Industry, the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova.
