STATE TO SUPPORT ENTERPRISES WHICH SUSPENDED WORK DUE TO STATE OF EMERGENCY

The state financial assistance to economic agents, whose work was suspended due to the Covid-19 spread, will soon be approved, said President Igor Dodon after the Monday’s traditional sitting of the Moldova’s higher leadership.

According to him, the state will cover 44-45% of their salary fund with condition that they will repay salaries to employees at the level of February 2020. It is about redemption of reimbursement of all taxes the employer is paying at accruing salary. The basis will be the list of employees as of March 1.

Enterprises, which suspended their work completely or partially, though not at the decision of the Commission for the State of Emergency, but at personal initiative (for employees’ safety) will receive back 60% of taxes from physical persons’ social contributions into the medical insurance fund.

According to the president, those workers of enterprises, who became technically unemployed in this period, will receive compensation of 60-80% salaries if they have at least 9-month work experience. For this, they should register at the employment bureau.

For the category of technical unemployed, which do not have 9-month working experience, the state will pay economy’s minimal salary, worth 2775 lei.

“All measures of state support are valid for the period of the state of emergency”, the president said.

He said that the country’s higher leadership agreed the payment of lump sum allowance to doctors, police officers, customs officers and other categories of public servants, who got infected with Covid-19, while at the frontline of fight against it.

“The amount of payment accounts for two average economy salaries – 16 thousand lei”, the president said.

All measures of state’s financial support to economic agents should be approved by the Commission for the State of Emergency, the Government and the Parliament, because this is connected with changes to the Law on the 2020 State Budget.
