​INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN MOLDOVA DECREASES BY 6.3%

Industrial production in Moldova lags behind last year's level. According to the Bureau of Statistics, in July, the decline was 2.4% compared to July 2019, and for seven months - by 6.3%.

Experts attribute this to a decrease in production volumes in the extractive industry (by 2.1%) and manufacturing industry (by 6.3%).

The largest decline was in the manufacturing of trailers, the production of which was 59.2% of last year's level, electrical equipment - 62.3%, electronics and optics - 62.9%.

Growth was noted only with the production of metal constructions - by 6.2%, with the food industry - by 8.8% and with the manufacturing of chemical products - by 33.3%.
