​MOLDOVA AND ROMANIA SIGN 150 MILLION EUROS CREDIT AGREEMENT

Moldova signed on Wednesday an agreement on getting 150 million euro credit from Romania for 5 years with 1.5% interest rate.

Moldovan Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and Minister of Public Finance of Romania Eugen Orlando Teodorovici put their signatures on the document.

“I was satisfied with the fact that we managed to quickly prepare the given agreement due to a close and constructive dialog, which allowed overcoming difficulties and all kind of speculations, to sign the document. Thanks to the Romanian Government for helping in developing Moldova”, Strelet said.

The Romanian Minister pointed at the importance of today’s moment in his country’s support to Moldova.

He also emphasized a low cost of credit, which will allow Moldovan Government cope with current financial difficulties.

The Minister expressed confidence that Moldova can further rely on Romania’s help as it follows a difficult path of transformations towards Europe, just like the path Romania has passed recently.

Infotag’s dossier: The decision on providing to Moldova a credit worth 150 million euros was taken during joint meeting of governments of the two countries in Constanta on September 22, 2015. The first tranche of credit, worth 60 million, will be allocated already by the end of this year.
