DACIAN CIOLOS IS SURE MOLDOVAN GOVERNMENT WILL GUARANTEE TRANSPARENCY IN ROMANIAN MONEY USING

25 august, 2016

The Romanian Premier Dacian Ciolos expressed confidence that Chisinau authorities will ensure complete transparency in using Romanian funds. Prime Minister Pavel Filip confirmed this, mentioning that external partners would have not loaned money to the Republic of Moldova had they doubted that it will be properly used.

Dacian Ciolos reminded that Romania provided the first tranche of credit only after Chisinau has implemented necessary reforms.

“I think the Moldovan Government is interested in using this money properly. Before the first tranche disbursing, certain steps have been made, including those, connected with administration functioning, banking system functioning, by means of which we wanted to make sure of maximum transparency in funds using”, the Romanian Premier said.

Pavel Filip said that at the beginning of this year, the country got into a difficult situation due to fraudulent management of European financing and public money. But we have been guided by reforms so that Moldova to regain the trust of external partners, because it has not been financed for almost a year and our goal was to unblock these funds.

“Besides, we should not underestimate the capacities of Romania or the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which are making sure that the game rules have changed in Moldova before giving money. We have an agreement with the IMF, which is going to be approved in October; due to the implementation of measures required by Romania, we have received this credit; we will have the EU and World Bank financial assistance unblocked soon and Moldova will return to normality. We are a Government, focused on reforms”, Pavel Filip said.
