PARLIAMENT RATIFIES CREDIT AGREEMENTS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE MODERNIZATION

The Moldovan Parliament ratified agreements with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA) worth US$20 million. These finance the project “Public Service Modernization”.

Government deputy general secretary Andrian Ermurachi said that the IDA will provide to Moldova US$15 million, while the IBRD – US$5 million. The project implies also financing from the Government worth US$2.4 million. The credit repayment will start in 2022 and will conclude in 2047, the interest rate will be on average 2-3%.

The project implies the abolition of the outdated services, merging of some of them, the raising of rural population access to public services due to their conversion into electronic format, as well as reduction of the number of documents and the time, necessary for providing services.

The project is designed for 2018-2023. Over this time, 21 public services should be revised, while 15 – converted into electronic format.

“In 2011-2016, another project was being implemented, which is a part of a program on service modernization, The M-cloud technological platform was implemented, due to which the annual economy accounts for US$3.8 million, according to World Bank expert assessment”, he said.
