DP ELABORATES PROJECT ON BUILDING A MULTIFUNCTIONAL ARENA IN CHISINAU

Chisinau will get a multifunctional cultural and sport arena before the end of the year. A corresponding preliminary project was developed by the ruling Democratic Party.

Its first Deputy Chairman, Speaker of the Parliament Andrian Candu presented the document at the Tuesday’s briefing, saying that the Government just has to adopt corresponding decrees and declare an international tender for selecting company that will undertake the building of the arena and most of costs.

He said that the cost of the object will account for 30-50 million euros, while the state share is 100 million lei (4.8 million euros), provided in the 2018 State Budget.

“The cost depends on technological equipping and the time frames of building. We want that the project to use the most modern technologies, which will allow to easily and quickly change the arena purpose”, Candu explained.

According to him, the arena should have 3.5-5 thousand seats, mobile platforms for various sport and cultural events, as well as have a parking lot with 1.2 thousand places.

“The political and economic stability in the country allows us discussing with potential investors, who are interested in building of this arena”, the Speaker said, adding: “What if Moldova will have to host Eurovision? It is impossible to be done without such an arena”.
