PREMIER FILIP PROMISES TO EFFICIENTLY USE FOREIGN FINANCING

Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs Krystyna Marty Lang on Wednesday.

Representative of the Swiss Government came to Moldova for participating in the ceremony of launching the 2018-2021 Strategy of Switzerland-Moldova Cooperation. On the basis of this document, Switzerland will provide technical assistance worth 50.9 million Swiss francs for implementing administrative-territorial reform, local infrastructure development, economic development and vocational education.

The Moldovan Premier expressed gratitude for permanent support from the Swiss Government, pointing at sustainable growth in the volume of assistance and the implementation of considerable number of projects in country strategic fields by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

"We will take care that all the money we receive as technical assistance or in the form of credits, to be spend most efficiently", Filip stressed.

Talking about strategically important fields, he told about the reform agenda and stated about the Moldovan Government's intention to move ahead in the field of education, justice, as well as infrastructure modernization. Also, the premier told about measures, undertook by the authorities for re-orienting the country to European development and raising Moldova's investment attraction.

"Strengthening of country financial possibilities will create conditions for launching programs, designed for Moldovan Diaspora, so that citizens who are abroad, to want to return home", Filip said.

According to the message, Krystyna Marty Lang highly appreciated the Government's efforts, saying that reforms will not remain only on paper, but are successfully implemented on behalf of citizens.

Switzerland in Moldova's largest donor. Since 2010, Moldova received around 85 million Swiss francs as financial assistance from this country.
