ELECTRICITY TARIFFS MAY GO DOWN IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MOLDOVA IN 2H2018

29 may, 2018

Electric energy rates for consumers in central and southern Moldova, serviced by Gas Natural Fenosa (GNF) distribution enterprises, may go down by approximately 13% starting from July 1, as per the draft Resolutions prepared by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) in response to the supplier's request made last March and just published on the ANRE website.

According to the drafts, for suppliers linked to low-voltage lines (0.4 kV) the tariff may be reduced by 0.25 lei (12.6%) - down to 1.74 lei from the current 1.99 lei/kWh; for those linked to medium-voltage lines (6 and 10 kV) the reduction may reach 0.24 lei - down to 1.58 lei; and for high-voltage lines (35 and 110 kV) the reduction may be by 0.21 lei - down to 1.32 lei/kWh.

For households in northern Moldova serviced by FEE Nord and linked to low-voltage networks, the draft document stipulates a reduction by 0.21 lei - down to 1.91 lei.

The current energy rates were introduced in March 2017. GNF was proposing to push them down starting yet from last April 1.
