17 august, 2018

The first president and founder of Victoriabank (VB), Victor Turcan, has good chances for preserving his current position of VB Administrative Board Chairman in its new personal composition.

The Board has been elected after the coming into the VB capital of Banca Transilvania (BT) – the second largest private bank in Romania. Its share in Victoriabank exceeds 40%. Together with the EBRD, these two foreign majority holders possess over 72% in VB, Moldova’s oldest private bank.

Besides Victor Turcanu, the following personalities were elected to the new composition of the VB Administrative Board: Igor Spoiala, Ionut-Octavian Patrahau, Tiberiu Moisa, Livia Dumitrescu and Mehmet Murat Sabas.

A Board Member told Infotag that by the present moment, the National Bank of Moldova has confirmed the Board membership of 6 Members. The last, 7th candidacy of the Board Member from Germany is undergoing the NBM approval procedure.

“The NBM leadership are saying that the new Administrative Board composition comes to be functional only upon the confirmation of the membership of all the seven Board Members by the NBM. The previous Board members continue working until the full and final approval of the new VB Board by the central bank.
