BUDGET TRANSFERS TO CNAS GREW

Revenues of the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) accounted for 7,840 million lei (US$440.4 million) as of the beginning of May, which is 36.1% of the total sum, planned for 2019. In comparison to the January-April 2018, the receipts grew 1,241 million lei.

According to the CNAS, over one-half of revenues - 4,239 million lei - came from the mandatory social insurance contributions, which grew 6.1%.

Transfers from the state budget grew to 3,559 million from 2,610 million. 2,374 million lei of them are designed for social payments and other payments, financed from the state treasury, while 1,185 million (+415 million lei) - for covering the CNAS deficit.

The CNAS expenditures reached 7,472 million lei (|19.1%) over four months and were 367.4 million lei smaller than revenues.

Meanwhile, the balance on CNAS accounts was 386.9 million lei (+37.9 million) as of May 1.
