EBRD READY TO SUPPORT IMPORTANT PROJECTS IN MOLDOVA – BANK DEPUTY PRESIDENT

Prime Minister Maia Sandu met with Deputy President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Alain Pilloux.

According to the Government’s press service, the EBRD representative confirmed his bank’s readiness to support important projects directed to raising the population living standards in Moldova.

He said that these may be projects in the field of energy security, the development of private and banking sector, as well as the implementation of electronic system of public procurement.

According to the press release, Alain Pilloux highly appreciated the Government’s decisiveness to implement real reforms for the benefit of citizens and, most important, to be guided by the principles of integrity.

Maia Sandu made a review of Government’s priorities, making a special emphasis on strengthening of the law-governed state, the reorganization of state institutions on the basis of integrity and institutional efficiency, the promotion of free competition for improving business environment and the investment climate for small and medium enterprises, as well as the development of road infrastructure.

The premier told about measures the Government intends to adopt to ensure Moldova’s energy security, as well as the diversification of natural gas supplying.

The EBRD Deputy President invited Moldovan Prime Minister to participate in the International Investment Forum which will take place in London in November.
