BANKRUPT BANKS RETURNED ONLY 2,377 MILLION LEI OF 14,122 MILLION, RECEIVED FROM NBM AS CREDITS

Since the recalling of licenses (16.10.2015) till the beginning of November, Banca de Economii, Banca Sociala and Unibank managed to return slightly more than 2,377 million lei from the 14,122 million lei provided to them by the National Bank of Moldova within the period of November 2014 through October 2015 under governmental guarantees.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Banca de Economii returned to the state 1,374 million lei of the received 9.273 million, Banca Sociala – 682.84 million of 2.7 billion, while Unibank – 320.4 million lei of 2,148 million.

The very banks which suffered from the theft of the century and removing of over US$1 billion as a result of large fraudulent transactions, managed to regain 2,361 million lei as a result of recovering debts from clients, selling of assets and debtors’ property that became banks’ property, as well as other procedures, such as executive papers, bankruptcy procedures.

As Infotag has already reported, after stealing of the billion, it was transferred into state debt, against which the former opposition and personally president, ex-leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon stand. The investigation of fraud was conducted by financial detectives from the Kroll agency (US). According to it, as a result of fraudulent actions, at least US$600 million were transferred from the three banks to accounts abroad, including US$200 million to Russia, US$58 million to Estonia, US$41 million to Cyprus. This money must be sued by means of international lawsuits and returned to Moldova.
