ANTI-CRISIS FUND IS NECESSARY FOR PROPER DISTRIBUTION OF STATE FUNDS – DA PLATFORM DEPUTY CHAIRMAN

02 april, 2020

Deputy Chairman of the “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] Platform party Igor Munteanu maintains that the only way out in the current crisis situation for authorities is a clear anti-crisis action plan with a separate fund (budget), approved by the Parliament.

Munteanu wrote in social networks that the Government does not have a plan of anti-crisis measures, it is reacting spontaneously, without having a clear concept, which will inevitably lead to waste of state money.

“The only solution is a crisis plan with a budget, approved by the Parliament. At the initial stage, at least 4 billion lei should be attracted in this crisis fund. The sum is almost equivalent to the one the International Monetary Fund may provide as loan (US$117 million). Recently, the IMF stated it wants to double this sum for states which will address for help in crisis situation”, the MP said.

According to him, the Government should allocate 50 million lei from the fund for covering the technical unemployment, yet being ready that the official number of the unemployed in Moldova will quickly grow to over 100 thousand people. Plus, 50 million lei more should go to agriculture subsidizing, taking into account that the state has 600 million lei of debt to agrarians and it is unclear how this issue will be resolved.

He stressed that the economy currently demands exclusive measures, financial contribution, without which it is impossible to save the country from catastrophe.
