DEMOCRAT MP HOPES FIRST TRANCHE OF EU MACRO-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WILL COME YET BEFORE AUGUST

01 july, 2020

DPM parliamentarian Nicolae Ciubuc hopes that the first 50-million-euro tranche of the macro-financial assistance will come from the European Union yet before the beginning of August. Negotiations on concluding a tranche memorandum have been on a home stretch already, he said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Nicolae Ciubuc reminded that the first tranche will be 'unconditional', whereas the second tranche of 50 million euros as well will come to Moldova only upon its meeting certain conditions.

As the conditions and concerned, an accord has already been reached at the level of the PSRM-DPM coalition, so he sees no obstacles to the coming of the money.

"But if we speak of inconsiderable risks, even in such case we will certainly find other solutions for covering Budget expenditures", said Moldova's former Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Protection Nicolae Ciubuc.

He mentioned also the Russian state loan of 200 million euros, negotiations on which have been resumed, "so we may well need to make another revision of the Law on the 2020 State Budget this upcoming autumn".
