FINANCE MINISTRY PLACED TWO- AND THREE-YEAR GOVERNMENT BONDS TOTALING 128 MILLION LEI (7.3 MILLION USD)

The Finance Ministry has placed two and three-year state bonds totaling 128 million lei (7.3 million dollars). The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) told the INFOTAG correspondent that the average rate of fixed yield on these securities amounted to 4.93%, which slightly exceeds the annual inflation rate, which amounted to 3.94% at the end of March.

The bond issuer offered investors two-year bonds worth 100 million lei with a fixed yield of 4.75%. The ministry's offer for three-year bonds amounted to 60.5 million lei with a fixed yield of 5.0%.

As a result of the auction, in which the bids of five investors participated, the ministry placed two-year bonds worth 67.6 million lei. Their fixed yield was set at 4.81%, slightly higher than the Finance Ministry's offer. The yield on three-year bonds rose to 5.06%. The sum of their placement amounted to 60.6 million lei.
