​FOUR MEN DETAINED AT BORDER WITH UKRAINE WHILE TRYING TO SMUGGLE 180,000 DOLLARS

Four Moldovan citizens were detained at the Vulcanesti border crossing point while attempting to smuggle undeclared 180,000 dollars. The driver of the car in which they were traveling from Ukraine chose the "green" corridor, but customs officers and prosecutors decided to conduct a physical inspection of the men and the vehicle, during which they found stashed 100 dollars bills in their clothes. Some of the detainees had previous criminal convictions for organizing illegal migration, theft, and traffic accidents. They could not explain the origin of the money confiscated.
