12 april, 2024

A bot farm that works against the country's European integration has appeared in the Russian social network "Vkontakte". On Friday, the publication "Agency" reported this with reference to the project "Botnadzor", which deals with exposing such propaganda schemes.

According to the research, there are now at least 24 accounts in the "bot farm" directed against Moldova. The first of them started working a year ago, but at the end of March they became more active and new accounts were added to them.

"During their work, the bots have left about 700 comments in groups related to Moldova. At the same time, 10% of the posts were published on April 10," the publication notes.

The bots criticize the country's president, Maia Sandu, and the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), and write posts against European integration and the referendum planned therefore. They also portray Romania as a country that plans to "enslave Moldova".
