PIOTR CADUC RELEASED AS HEAD COACH OF MOLDOVA NATIONAL BOXING TEAM

24 july, 2019

Piotr Caduc, The Head Coach of the Moldovan national boxing team, has been released from the holding position by the overwhelming number of votes of the presidium of the Moldovan Boxing Federation (MBF). Igor Untila became the new head trainer.

MBF President Vasiliy Chirtoca told Infotag that first of all the resignation of Caduc is connected to the unsatisfactory performance of the Moldovan boxers at the official international tournaments.

For the first time in many years, the Moldovan athletes did not take part in the boxing tournament at the Summer Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Despite the fact that there were nine Moldovan boxers at the 2nd European Games, which have recently ended in Minsk, none of them climbed to the victory podium.

“Mr. Caduc, being a head trainer of the national team and head trainer at a boxing center in the village of Grimancauti, the Briceni Raion, while making up the national team, gave preference to the boxers trained by him, causing fair discontent of coaches from other boxing centers of the country. He behaved provocatively with his colleagues, who were particularly outraged by shameless poaching of talented athletes to Grimancauti. I have repeatedly talked with Piotr Caduc on these topics, but, alas, he did not draw any conclusion. As a result, the MBF presidium members decided to release him from the holding position”, explained Chirtoca.
