President Maia Sandu honored the memory of the victims of the first wave of Stalinist deportations, urged to remember the tragic lessons of the past and to prevent “any totalitarian impulses.” As INFOTAG reports, Sandu said this in an appeal on social networks on the occasion of another anniversary of the tragic events, when on the night of June 12-13, 1941, “the Soviet regime evicted thousands of families in Moldova, put them in freight trains and sent them far away from home.”
