President Maia Sandu honored the memory of the victims of the first wave of Stalinist deportations, urged to remember the tragic lessons of the past and to prevent “any totalitarian impulses.” As INFOTAG reports, Sandu said this in an appeal on social networks on the occasion of another anniversary of the tragic events, when on the night of June 12-13, 1941, “the Soviet regime evicted thousands of families in Moldova, put them in freight trains and sent them far away from home.”

On Thursday, the Parliament adopted in the first reading a law aimed at increasing the independence of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM). The draft was prepared by the NBM taking into account the IMF recommendations and Moldova's commitments under the Association Agreement with the EU.

Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselsky has denied claims by PSRM leader Igor Dodon that “two years ago he wrote a letter to the Moldovan leadership proposing to unite.” Krasnoselsky said this in his telegram channel, expressing the opinion that either Dodon is “misled” or he “deliberately distorts the essence of my appeals to the President of Moldova.”
