President Maia Sandu leaves on Friday for Switzerland, where she will participate in the Peace Summit on Ukraine to be held on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock. This was reported to the INFOTAG agency by the President's press service, explaining that Sandu will hold on the margins of the forum “meetings with a number of heads of state and government of EU member states in order to deepen political dialog and economic ties, as well as to promote the EU accession process.”

The U.S., Canadian and British governments are warning Moldovan authorities that ”Russian actors are plotting to influence the results of the fall 2024 presidential election in Moldova and intend to provoke protests if the pro-Russian candidate does not win.” As INFOTAG reports, this is stated in a joint statement of the three countries, posted on the website of the US State Department, “exposing Russia's subversive activities and its interference in the elections against Moldova.”
