UNITED PATRIOTIC BLOC ESTABLISHED FOR SAVING MOLDOVA

18 may, 2015

A new organization has appeared in this republic – United Patriotic Bloc “Let’s Save Moldova!” According to the press release issued on Monday by the Committee for National Salvation “For Moldova!” the Bloc has united extra-parliamentary parties and civil society organizations sharing patriotic outlooks.

The Bloc’s chief objective is to form a significant socio-political force aimed at strengthening the statehood of Moldova and its territorial integrity, neutrality and sovereignty, and at saving its historic heritage.

“The neutralization of corruption, creation of conditions for a sustainable and considerable improvement of living standards in the multinational Moldova and bringing back home of Moldova citizens who have left the country for jobs; restoration of relations with our partners and historic allies – such is the common goal of all healthy forces in the Republic of Moldova”, the Committee wrote in its press release.

Its leaders have set themselves an objective to hold a constituent assembly of the United Patriotic bloc next autumn. For this, they have set up a working group headed by the former Chief of the Information and Security Service (ISS) Counter-Intelligence Department, retired ISS Colonel Ion Mahu, the Chairman of the Committee for National Salvation “For Moldova!” Coordination Center.

The Committee unites retired officers of Moldovan power structures – the ISS, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Defense, Border Police, task-forces units, veterans of the Afghan war etc. and historians and economists standing up for Moldovan statehood on the basis of the doctrine of “Moldovenism” [from the word ‘Moldoveni’ which means ‘Moldovans’, as opposed to ‘Romanianism’ – from the word “Romanians”]

“The working group, set up for organizing the said constituent assembly, is open to dialog with all forces interested in good development of Moldova, who wish to save the country from losing its statehood, to preserve the people’s unity; to bring back the name of the language – Moldovan – into state structures, to introduce the “History of Moldova” discipline into Moldovan educational institutions, and to put an end to the ongoing total Romanianization of the country”, said Ion Mahu.
