LIBERAL REFORMERS ACCUSE GOVERNMENT OF COLLUSION WITH RUSSIAN COMPANY

24 august, 2015

The leadership of the extra-parliamentary Liberal Democratic Party maintains that the Moldovan Government, the National Agency for Public Property and the Russian company of Avia Invest entered into a collusion to pass the Chisinau International Airport into a concession to Russia.

LRP Co-Chairman Oleg Bodrug stated to Infotag that the ordinary meeting of the Chisinau Appeals Court, scheduled for early August, failed to be held once again “because the Government and the economic operator concerned have same positions on the concession question”.

“Avia Invest representative promised to come for the court session on August 6, but did not show up, and did not explain anything. When the judge suggested adjourning the hearings due to default in appearance of one side, the National Agency representatives readily supported the postponement. It is obvious that the authorities do not wish to return the airport into the public ownership and are holding secret negotiations with Avia Invest”, said Oleg Bodrug”.

He emphasized that Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet is also totally indifferent to the airport problem.

“We have been demanding airport return for 2 years now, but we see that each time our authorities would invent new schemes to prevent this. Now we are considering submitting a claim to court for the deliberate dragging out of court hearings:”, said the LRP Co-Chairman.

His party comrade ex-MP Valeriu Saharneanu is also sure that the Government acts in the interest of Avia Invest.

“The Government and the public property agency are turning a blind eye to the fact that the airport concession decision was taken by the government that was dismissed shortly after that. The concession bargain was legalized with gross violation of the law”, Saharneanu wrote in his blog.

The CAC has scheduled the next court meeting for October 21.
