DEMOCRATS SAY MAYORAL ELECTION RESULTS INDICATE THAT CITIZENS SUPPORT MOLDOVA’S EUROPEAN VECTOR

21 november, 2017

Moldova citizens support the country’s European development vector, and an extra proof to this are the results of the local elections of mayors held last Sunday, November 19. In eight of the ten populated areas that held the elections, victories were won by Democratic Party candidates, DP press secretary Vitalie Gamurari said to journalists after a party leadership meeting on Tuesday.

In two more populated areas, DP candidates won their way to a second round of elections, and they are maintaining lead there.

“Citizens have supported the European vector because our main rival at the elections were Socialist candidates who followed a diametrically different development vector – to the East. Now we will analyze this election result. We hope this positive trend will continue in subsequent election campaigns as well”, said Gamurari.

In his words, the DP leadership today discussed the draft Law on the 2018 State Budget. Among its priorities are road rehabilitation, social issues, energy security, energy efficiency, and other.
