MOLDOVA IS READY TO LEARN FROM DANISH EXPERIENCE - SPEAKER CANDU

Speaker of the Parliament Andrian Candu expressed Moldova's desire to learn from the experience of Denmark and other European countries in the process of implementing democratic reforms. He stated about this at the Monday's meeting with Chairman of the Danish Parliament Pia Kaersgaard and members of the presidium, Deputy Speakers Henrik Dam Kristensen, Kristian Pihl Lorentzen, Christian Juhl and Leif Mikkelsen.

"Moldova needs Danish experience and knowledge for successful implementation of reforms, as well as EU standards in legislation and normative acts. European integration is our priority", said Speaker Candu.

According to him, a special interest is raised by the mechanism of improving the legislation in the field of mass media, launched in Moldova last year, including measures, adopted by Moldovan authorities for ensuring the protection for protecting the country's information space from propaganda and disinformation.

"The sides discussed the advantages, provided today to investors as a result of legislative changes, made over recent years, energy and information safety, justice and the conducted reforms, as well as reforms which are in the process of transformation implementation", Candu said.

Andrian Candu also informed that this year, it is for the first time after more than 20-year break when elections on mixed voting system will be conducted in Moldova. The new system is aimed at bringing deputies closer to the people.

He appreciated the Danish system of election, whose 135 MPs are elected in single-mandate constituencies, while 40 mandates are distributed among parties, which got in the Parliament on proportionate system.
