MOLDOVA PRESIDENT IGOR DODON ATTENDING INTERNATIONAL FORUM IN AZERBAIJAN CAPITAL

Moldovan President Igor Dodon is taking part in the 6th Global Baku Forum that has begun on Thursday in Baku city, the capital of the FSU Republic of Azerbaijan.

Dodon wrote on his Facebook page today that the Forum has gathered presidents, prime ministers, ministers, former heads of state and government, international organization representatives, prominent politicians and public figures from more than 50 countries.

Igor Dodon's visit agenda includes a number of meetings with high-ranked officials "from many of the countries taking part in the Baku Forum, and I am sure that the present visit will promote the consolidation of the relations of friendship and will brisk up trade and economic relations between Moldova and a whole number of countries".

Like in all of the previous trips undertaken by President Igor Dodon, the official Moldovan delegation to Baku does not include the representatives of the Moldovan Government or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The President is being accompanied only by his Advisers and by MP Zinaida Greceanii, Chairperson of the Party of Socialists.

The 6th Global Baku Forum is supported by the Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora Affairs and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, and is being attended by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.

On Thursday, Turkish Prime Minister Binali YД±ldД±rД±m is to deliver a speech headlined "Power: Great Powers and Others" at the Forum.

The Baku Forum is focusing on issues of peace and security in the Middle East, the current geopolitical situation at the Balkans, the growing role played by the youth in the modern social and political life.
