MOLDOVAN DELEGATION ATTENDS PACE AUTUMN SESSION

A Moldovan parliamentary delegation led by Marian Lupu of the ruling Democratic Party are taking part in the Autumn Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that has opened in Strasbourg on Monday.

The delegation includes also Deputy Speaker Valeriu Ghiletchi (European People's Party of Moldova, EPPM), Inna Supac (Communist Party), Ion Apostol (Liberal Party) and Vlad Batrincea (Party of Socialists).

The 5-day-long Session is to discuss questions of financing of Islam in Europe and radicalization of migrants and communities of Diasporas; access to Council of Europe Member states and to United Nations organs on human rights observance; nuclear security and general security in Europe; the role played by national parliaments in successful decentralization processes, etc.

On the first Session day, the forum will learn the name of the winner of the 2018 Vaclav Havel Human Right Premium.

While in Strasbourg, the Moldovan delegation will meet with Secretary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Thomas Markert and with Alexander Guessel, Head of the Political Affairs Directorate of the Council of Europe.
