NOT A SINGLE PARTY WILL POLL A MAJORITY AT PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION - OPINION RESEARCH

13 december, 2018

If a parliamentary election were held in Moldova next Sunday, then not a single political force in the country would be able to win over 50% ballots, as per the findings of the opinion poll carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova and presented in Chisinau on Thursday.

According to the findings, the Party of Socialists (PSRM) would poll 35.5% ballots, the ruling Democratic Party - 13.2%, the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) - 9.4%, the DA Platform - 6.9%. However, 8.6% respondents stated they would not go to the polls, plus another 17.8% were uncertain. But even with an account of definite respondents, the PSRM would poll 48.4% ballots, the DP - 17.9%, the PAS - 12.8%, and the DA Platform 9.4%.

All the rest parties would be not able to overcome the 6% electoral barrier because the Ilan Shor Party may count only on 3.1% ballots, the Communist Party (MCP) - 2.2%, Our Party - 1.7%.

The opinion poll was carried out on November 28 through December 10 among 1195 adult residents of 81 various-type populated areas across the republic. The pollsters are saying the error should not be in the excess of В±3%.
