REPORT ON OPEN DIALOG IS A LIE FOR DISCREDITING OPPOSITION - PAS AND DA LEADERS

18 december, 2018

Leaders of the Party of Action and Solidarity and the "Demnitate si Adevar" Party Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase said that the results of the parliamentary commission's investigation are false and directed to the opposition discrediting.

PAS Chairwoman Maia Sandu said that it was clear back from the Speaker of the Parliament Andrian Candu's statements [who accused opposition's leaders of participation in hybrid war against Moldova] that the Democratic Party is going to promote lies at the highest level.

"During the visit to Strasbourg we familiarized representatives of European institutions with Speaker's statements in order that they to see with their own eyes how the pressure on opposition is exerted in Moldova, how authorities are trying to manipulate public opinion and spreading lies about opponents, including even from the parliamentary rostrum. The reaction of partners is understandable in particular in the address of the Polish Ambassador to Moldova Bartolomiej Zdaniuk personally to Pavel Filip, in which he demanded not to involve Poland in the election campaign in Moldova [the Open Dialog was founded in Poland]", Sandu said.

According to him, it is absolutely clear that the main goal of the parliamentary investigation is to discredit the opposition and prepare the grounds for its possible exclusion from the election run.

"Despite great financial resources, the control of public institutions and a considerable share of the media, the bribing of voters - the authorities prepared a reserve mechanism - the investigation of the Open Dialog Foundation activities. However, the entire work of the parliamentary commission was from the very beginning paired with lies. The authorities are behaving in this way because they fear of the opposition and the people, who got tired of lies and the today's regime corruption", Sandu said.

DA Party Chairman Andrei Nastase said that members of the ad-hoc commission, involved in the investigation, would have long been put in prison in a normal democratic country.

"Instead of publishing a really important report of the Kroll Agency, connected with the stealing of the billion, the authorities prefer to publish such reports of the parliamentary commission. However, in conditions of the judiciary, controlled by the authorities, and the captured government institutions, one should not trust any document of the Government or the Parliament", the oppositionist said.
