PREMIER FILIP TAKES PART IN MARKING 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF EASTERN PARTNERSHIP

On Monday morning, Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip flew to Brussels to attend the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.

According to the governmental press service, the Premier will take floor at a high-level conference dedicated to the tenth anniversary of EaP launching. On Monday evening, he will take part in the official dinner to be given by President of the European Council Donald Tusk for six heads of state and government of Eastern Partnership member states. While in Brussels, Pavel Filip will hold a number of meetings with high-ranked European officials and the heads of state and government.

The European Commission has reported that in the framework of the anniversary celebration there will be high-level meetings of the officials from the EaP member states, European Union member countries and other interested sides.

On Monday, Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, will chair an annual meeting of EaP ministers with the representatives of 28 European Union countries and of European institutions. The conference will assess the progress achieved in the realization of “The Twenty Tasks for the Year 2020”, agreed upon at the latest Eastern Partnership Summit held in November 2017.

On Monday evening, the Center for Fine Arts BOZAR in Brussels will hold a big anniversary concert with the participation of artists from the six Eastern Partnership countries.

On Tuesday, President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker will chair a high-level conference with the participation of the EaP presidents or premiers, the foreign ministers of EU member countries, the representatives of the civil society, business circles, youth organizations and journalists from 34 countries. The stakeholders will discuss the development of the Eastern Partnership over its first ten years and its future.
