PAS LEADER SPEAKS ABOUT FUTURE OF ACUM

02 june, 2020

Chairperson of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Maia Sandu voiced her opinion about the future of the opposition ACUM bloc uniting the Right-wing opposition PAS and the DA Platform party. She said that ACUM exists in the format of parliamentary cooperation.

“It was an electoral bloc. After the elections (parliamentary elections on February 24, 2019) we exist as two separate parties”, she said in an interview with Agora.md.

Speaking about the formation of a bloc by the presidential elections, Sandu said that this issue needs to be discussed.

“We are two parties sharing common goals. And therefore, we want to go on the same front”, she said.

Sandu believes that there is “a big problem” with the issue of the new government.

“There are no 51 votes in the Parliament to support a new government with decent people. If we had majority support with the DA political platform, we would have already proposed a government”, she said, making it clear that the two right-wing factions don’t want to vote together with the Pro Moldova group and Shor faction.
