DA MPS START COLLECTING SIGNATURES FOR EMERGENCY MEETING OF PARLIAMENT

The parliamentary faction of the party Platform DA has started collecting signatures for convening an emergency session of parliament, the leader of the DA's parliamentary faction, Alexander Slusari, stated at a briefing on Friday.

“The political bureau of the Platform DA has proposed calling an emergency meeting of parliament to solve the problems faced by agricultural producers. The faction is now collecting signatures to register such a request. For this, we need the support of 34 out of 101 deputies,” said Slusari.

He added that DA proposedthat Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture should present reports on the situation in the agriculture sector in parliament. DA also suggested introducing a state of emergency in several areas, as well as increasing subsidies for the drought-hit farmers and easing tax pressure on them.

“It is possible to find 500 million lei to compensate farmers' losses,” Sulsari said.

He expressed hope that MPs from other parliamentary factions would support DA's initiative.
