PRESIDENT SANDU OUTLINES 10 WORK PRIORITIES FOR SSC

At the first working meeting of a newly appointed Supreme Security Council, President Maia Sandu outlined 10 work priorities for the SSC for the near future.

For the first priority, the head of state indicated the investigation of "the bank theft of the billion [dollars]". Following next were: concession of the Chisinau airport; situation at the insurance market: misappropriation of the Moldovan real estate and other property in Ukraine; illicit funding of Moldovan political parties and election campaigns; investigation of the Laundromat case [the laundering of US$20 billion from Russia via Moldovan banks]; cigarette smuggling; traffic of narcotic drugs and anabolic steroids; illicit felling of forests; and the state's potential for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maia Sandu invited SSC members to offer other priorities and methods of improving the Council's work that would let the SSC to acquire a better work efficiency and to make other state agencies work as is demanded by the law.
