​OP AND PATRIA PARTY APPLY FOR REGISTRATION OF VOTING BLOC “RENATO USATII”

On Tuesday, the Partidul Nostru (Our Party, OP) and the Patria Party submitted to the Central Election Commission documents for registration of a voting bloc called “Renato Usatii”, its leader announced to journalists.

“Yet in 2020, Igor Dodon began registering his spoiler parties – organizations having names similar to ours. This is being done to muddle up voters. And mistakes at voting can be made not only by old-aged people but also the youth by mixing up names. As for Renato Usatii bloc, it will hardly be mixed up with any other organization”, stated the politician, who is convinced that his bloc will poll “very many ballots”.

Usatii said the two parties concerned are Centrist forces. He rules out the possibility of the accession of other parties to the bloc.

“All the rest parties already were in power. Now they are again longing for the ‘public trough’. We haven’t been in power, and we cannot march together with them”, said Usatii.

In his words, attempts will be made in the nearest future to register spoiler parties in the Right political segment. For instance, there are talks about the creation of a voting bloc of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Platforma DA party.

“This is precisely why Vlad Filat has left the LDPM leadership – because [DA leader] Andrei Nastase does not wish to go together with him. So, Dodon is trying to create a bloc of Right forces so as to grab ballots from Maia Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity. Dodon and his allies are considering the creation of a PAS bloc, or even a “Maia Sandu bloc”. All these tricks are aimed at stirring up chaos and at muddling voters. That’s why we have decided to register Renato Usatii’s block so that nobody can be mistaken and vote for sure”, said the leader of the would-be voting bloc.
