THIS WEEK, A MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE IN WASHINGTON WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE “STRATEGIC DIALOGUE” BETWEEN THE USA AND MOLDOVA

This week, a meeting will take place in Washington as part of the “strategic dialogue” between the USA and Moldova. According to “INFOTAG”, the US Embassy in Chisinau announced the meeting.

“Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi, US Ambassador Kent Logsdon and several other high-ranking officials from the USA and Moldova will meet in Washington to participate in our annual Strategic Dialogue, during which we will work towards progress on key issues in US-Moldovan relations,” the statement said.

The Strategic Dialogue between the USA and Moldova was initiated in 2014 but was interrupted in 2017 due to changes in the political situation in Moldova. After a five-year hiatus, the Moldova-USA Strategic Dialogue and the meetings of three joint working groups were resumed in 2022. Meetings within the framework of the strategic dialogue take place once a year, alternately in Washington and Chisinau. The previous meeting took place in March 2023 in Chisinau. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the USA has provided Moldova with $770 million in aid aimed at various projects to strengthen the country's resilience and address the challenges it faces.
